Hungarian and international stars are coming to have some beach fun at Strand - Nagyon Zene Festival in August. The four-day event, organized as part of the Nagyon Balaton series at the Zamárdi Public Beach, will feature such names as Parov Stelar, Papa Roach, John Newman, Knife Party, Dub FX and Wilkinson, but the performers on Petőfi Rádió’s top 100 list will also take the stage.

On 20 August Tankcsapda will hold its 25th anniversary concert at the festival, with Ivan & The Parazol, Mary Popkids, Carbonfools, Supernem and Quimby representing the host country alongside the Debrecen-based band.

“As the slogan of the festival suggests, STRAND is strongly affiliated with Petőfi Rádió. We have partnered up with the organizers in order to give our listeners a chance to enjoy countless Hungarian and international acts, which are regulars on our programmes, at this stunning location over four days. We have compiled an exhaustive national line-up this year as well, including seasoned performers and newcomers alike, while the international selection truly reflects the channel’s versatility,” said Vanda Horváth, chief editor of Petőfi Rádió.

“We strive to ensure that along with the group of highly anticipated international performers the Hungarian line-up meets popular demand as well. Around a hundred Hungarian acts will be featured, with Quimby, Irie Maffia, Punnany Massif and Brains already having confirmed their participation at Strand between 20 and 23 August. On 20 August, the opening day of the festival, Tankcsapda will celebrate 25 years on stage with a concert looking back on the band’s complete body of work,” said Zoltán Fülöp, one of the leaders of VOLT Produkció, the company responsible for organizing the event.
