Did you know that there are 8 ports where you can board pleasure boats to watch the fireworks? Everyone is aware that B.my.Lake is already underway in Balatonvilágos and that the Strand Festival in Zamárdi starts on 20 August, but we still have additional tips where to celebrate the new bread, wine and St Stephen.

Lake Balaton drenched in light

Fireworks are a must. There is at least on person in every family or group of friends who manages to convince the others with claims, such as 'Come on, everyone will be there!' and 'This year it will be better than last year!' or 'We don't get to see the fireworks in Budapest, so please, just walk me to the beach!' We also gave in to the arguments rooted in primeval instincts, and compiled a list of Balaton-side settlements where you can watch fireworks on 20 August.

The first to go will be Zamárdi, where the sky lights up at 8 PM. This means that firework-zealots can also catch the show in Balatonföldvár at 9 PM. Do not worry, there will be fireworks in various other places as well, like Alsóörs, Balatonalmádi, Füred, Csopak, Keszthely and Tihany.

Arguably, it will be the pleasure boats to offer the most spectacular view of the fireworks at Lake Balaton. There will be 12 firework watching boats leaving 8 ports. You can embark on the sparkling (and damned loud) adventure from Balatonalmádi, Füred, Földvár, Balatonkenese, Balatonmáriafürdő, Fonyód, Keszthely and Siófok. The exact times and places of departures are listed here.
