A temporary adventure park was set up in front of the Strand Festival main stage: thrill-seekers could slide on a 100-metre zip line course from a 35-metre tall tower to the finish on the other side. Constant screams, the whirring of the wire and the various poses struck by the adrenaline junkies above contributed to the festival atmosphere everyday from late afternoon well into the night. If you were willing to stand in line to wait for your turn, which invariably took ages, and managed to take your plunge during one of the late night main stage performances, you could watch the show from the VIPest of VIP spots.
