World-famous artists in Balatonfüred, wine and gastronomy in Badacsony, fish dinner in Keszthely, running, hiking and walking all around the Lake and legendary KFT songs in Veszprém. We brought you programs.

Veszprém Spring Festival (6-29 March)

Veszprém welcomes spring with 5 theatre pieces performed at Hangvilla, in the frame of the Veszprém Spring Festival. From 6 March to 29 March, the shows begin at 7 PM, including Dumas' Three Musketeers intervowen with court intricacies and love. Read more about the rest of the pieces here. Balatonfüred Francophone Weeks (6 March - 12 April)

Spring does not arrive alone to Balatonfüred, it brings along the noteworthy company of Picasso, director Jean Cocteau and photo journalist Robert Capa (born Endre Friedmann), but we've already discussed that. The exhibition Meeting Picasso at the Vaszary Gallery opens on 7 March. The program of Balatonfüred Francophone Weeks does not stop here, of course, there is also an onstage phone call included, as well as the movie The Adventures of Picasso. You can get closer toRobert Capa, the restless photographer in the frame of the exhbition In Movement from 21 March, with the help of around 50 photographs and several video footages. The Hungarian documentary, Close to Capa will be on screen on 22 March.

March Wineventures – Badacsony and its surroundings (7, 14, 21, and 28 March)
 
The Badacsony Wineventure event series guarantees the weekly dose to people unable or unwilling to leave the wine-gastronomy axis behind until the end of June. On 7 March, wine will be accompanied by fish center stage at the Halászkert Restaurant in Balatonfüred, followed by the wine dinner of the Szászi Cellar, the eco-farming pioneer on 14 March. The topping on it all will be the stargazing with a Szentgyörgy-hegyi Sweet Zeusz in hand. On the night of the Equinox, 21 March the adventures continue at the Villa Tolnay Winery - strictly after the dinner, but we would be no means miss out on the panorama from Csobánc and the sight of the spring new moon. The finishing touch on March consists of Asian dishes and the Badacsonyi Ürmös (on  the basis of Róza Szegedy's original, 200-year-old recipe) at the Borbarátok Winehouse on 28 March. By the way, once you're in Badacsonytomaj, be sure to test the magical powers of the Rózsakő and a bottle of wine.

Carne Vale – seafood dinner in Keszthely (13 March)

Respecting the 40-day fast, Bistro Classico holds a seafood dinner on 13 March. Sitting on the terrace of this marina restaurant opened last year, you can also catch a glimpse of Fifty-Fifty, the Blue Ribbon winner and recordholder boat, unless it's speeding at a European sailing competition. Among the marina bistro vibes, even fine dining loses some of its stiffness, especially when Zoli Szabó adds a package of fun to the dishes.Apropos, food! We have found out the secret menu: oysters, scallops, squid and Balaton eel.

Country Run – countrywide (14 March)

The length of Hungary's border is 2246 kilometres, which would be too much even for Olympic marathon runners, but you can also be one of the people who run, jog or walk 5 kilometres anywhere in Hungary to help reach this number. The new mass sporting event, the Country Run is free, but you have to register to participate.

Restaurant Week – Balatonszemes, Balatonlelle and Veszprém (16–22 March)

After the crazy week of Fat Thursday, now you can eat at top category restaurants for a fixed price of 3300 HUF in the frame of the 8th Restaurant Week. The fixed menus consist of 3 courses, so if you avoided let's say Kistücsök in Balatonszemes on account of the prices, now you can test the expertise of Balázs Csapody's team for the price of a cinema ticket plus a popcorn. Other participants are Mango Restaurant & Café (Balatonlelle), Malomkert sörház and Historante Restaurant in Veszprém.

KFT concert – Veszprém (19 March)

KFT's album Bál az Operában turned 30 last year and it was included in Radio Petőfi's TOP50 HUngarian albums. To get a taste, head to Veszprém's Hangvilla on 19 March: you'll come out with your head full of unforgettable refrains.

Spuri Balaton – around the Lake (19–22 March)

You can also attempt to run around Lake Balaton as well: between 19 and 22 March, you can complete the 194.2-km supermarathon distance in 4 days, individually, in team of two or more. Completing the two-day, 94-km HalfBalaton or the one-day marathon or half-marathon distances are great feats of stamina as well. The start and finish of this runners' delight is the city of marathon-long nights, Siófok.

World Water Day – programs/hikes – all around the Lake (20–22 March)

By Kis-Balaton, you can immerse yourself into netting and studying the tiniest participants of waterlife in the frame of the program organized by the Vönöczky Schenk Jakab Research House on 21 March. On the same day, you can also trace beavers (or at least their activities) along the Kerka and the Cserka that flow under ancient oaks near Iklódbördőce. The abandoned quarry near the Kovácsi Creek and the Kovácsi Hill, springs, moors, a mysterious cave, the cliffs of Hollókő and the Peace Stupa re also part of the 17-km Water Day tour of the Balaton Uplands National Park, starting from Zalaszántó..

Hamvas Days – Balatonfüred (20–21 March)

On 20 and 21 March, Balatonfüred commemorates writer/philosopher Béla Hamvas. On Friday, there will be a commemoration with reading on the Tagore Promenade, the ceremony of a literary translation award at the Vaszary Villa, a book première, and the tasting of Balaton Uplands wines with the commentary of András Dobai, plus guitar music at Kedves Confectionery. On Saturday, the literary premières at the Vaszary Café will be followed by the opening of the Robert Capa - In Movement exhibition at the Vaszary Gallery. The last item on the schedule is Norbert Szakáll's concert at the Kisfaludy Gallery at 20:00.

Kaukázus, Esti Kornél – Veszprém (28 March)

Kaukázus is now on tour with its latest album, K.U.S. (2014) and its loveable and entertaining social criticism. The fourth stop of the tour is Veszprém, more closely, the Expresszó on 28 March. To make it all the more alluring and prolong the fun, they also bring along another band, Esti Kornél.
