After several other Hungarian castles, now it's the turn of the castle of Szigliget to be transformed into something like the scene from a video game.
The video below is the work of the team behind the Virtuális vártúrák (Virtual castle tours) project. The basis of the animation are the findings of the excavation of the castle by Balázs Szőke and László Gere. This video, however, is just a teaser, you can check out the complete movie at Szigliget's Tanítóház.
The castle was built by Tihany's Benedictine Abbey after the 13th century Mongol invasion of Europe. It had stood proudly for 400 years, before a lightning struck one of its towers in 1697, and the damages of the fire have not been repaired since.
