Balatonalmádi gets into shape for summer with modern pavements and more green surfaces.

Szent Istvány Promenade in Balatonalmádi will be reconstructed from the Sóhajok hídja (Bridge of Sighs) to the part past the main entrance in front of Wesselényi Beach. In his interview with ÖbölTV, the chief architect of Balatonalmádi, László Bogdán explained that the works began at the beginning of March and are expected to be concluded before the high season, by mid-May. The 70-million-HUF investment is financed by the Balaton Developemnt Council and the local government of Balatonalmádi.

The reconstruction includes the following:

  • New pavement
  • Renewed lighting
  • Ribbed paving strips to aid the visually impaired
  • New green surfaces with trees and flowers
  • In case you wouldn't last until reaching the beach in the summer heat, you can refresh yourself with the help of the misting system
  • The subway under the railway will be turned into barrier-free with the help of the Hungarian State Railway
