BALATONFÜRED AND TIHANY

Kredenc turns 5, Balatonfüred (2-6 April)

Balatonfüred's cultic bistro, Kredenc has twice the reason to celebrate this weekend. One is Easter, the other is that the place opened for the first time at 10 o'clock on 2 April 2010. The sub-Mediterranean, bohemian meeting place spiced with spontaneous performances by Dobai has become an unavoidable factor of Füred's days and nights since. The five-day celebration includes a Belmondo comedy, jazz duos and djs, vegetarian compatible Easter dishes and so on.

Tihanyi Piac Placc (4 April) and Easter bunny party (5 April)

The offerings of the traditional Saturday morning Tihanyi PIAC Marketplace is expanded with a lamb goulash, live music and a petting zoo under the sign of Easter. On Sunday, 5 April, there will be a running race, egg rolling, and Easter ditty contest among other fun stuff at Tihany's Mádl Ferenc Square, where you can pet and rent bunnies as well.

BALATON UPLANDS

Levendula Porta, Kékkút (4 April)

Try your hand at sheep shearing and cow milking at Kékkút's Levendula Porta on Saturday, 4 April. The programs begin in the afternoon and include the herding of the cows in from the pasture. Don't miss out on the curd cheese noddles, wine-tasting and wonderful syrups.

Tagyon Birtok, Tagyon (5-6 April)

The Tagyon Manor prepares with a 2-day programme recommended to wine fans. The fun starts on 5 April and ends with a lunch on the following day. The gastronomical experiences will be accompanied by exciting programs, like an egg hunt, and the traditional "watering" of girls.

SZIGLIGET

Castle gate opening (4-6 April)

Celebrate the castle opening and Easter at the castle of Szigliget with knight dubbing, puppet theatre, and commedia dell'arte. The festivities begin on Saturday, 4 April and end on Monday, 6 April.

KESZTHELY AND HÉVÍZ

Balaton Museum, Keszthely (2-3 April)

In Keszthely on 2 and 3 April, you can check out the famous Easter egg collection of the Balaton Museum, get to know the Easter traditions, and decorate Easter eggs the natural way and with various techniques

Festivities in Hévíz (5-6 April)

On Easter Sunday and Monda,y there will be numerous family programs in Hévíz's Deák Square and the City Library, plus a gastronomical and artisan fair. On Sunday, you can have fun with stilts and the Molnár Dixieland Band feat. jazz singer Tamás Berki, while Monday arrives with a folk playground, the Roppantós Dance Group and the concert of Cimbaliband.

TéliKert, Keszthely (április 3-4.) 

Keszthely's TéliKert prepares for Easter with Istvándy wines. On 3 April, Ghymes' very own Jani Horváth plays the piano, after an informal chat about Balaton, Badacsony and quality wine-making with Gergő Istvándy. On Saturday, the Easter meat dishes take centre stage, washed down by Istvándy's Bizsergés, Pinot gris and Kéknyelű by the bottle or the glass.

AROUND KIS-BALATON

Spring welcome in Kápolnapuszta's Buffalo Reserve (4-5 April) and at the Vörs Folk House (6 April)

The Balaton-felvidéki National Park's Buffalo Reserve in Kápolnapuszta holds arts and crafts workshops and egg hunts on occasion of Easter on Saturday and Sunday (4 and 5 April). The lucky and fast who top the egg hunters' list will be rewarded by an on site carriage ride. On Monday, 6 April there is Easter discount entry to the Folk House in Vörs,where kids will be entertained with arts and crafts and a playhouse.
