We continue our series on talented photographers around Lake Balaton, and our next featured artist is a guy who is quite new to the region. Brazilian Silvio Severino visited the Hungarian sea for the first time this year, and being the daring photographer he is, he decided to show us the beach of Siófok from an unusual angle.
- Silvio is a photographer from Porto Alegre, Brazil, but he’s lived in Europe for the past 15 years. He used to live in London and Zurich, but now his headquarters is in Budapest
- He likes urban photography, but he also has lots of concert pictures. Even though it’s a complicated genre that requires a lot of patience, he sometimes experiments with long-exposure photography
- This was his first time at Balaton, but he’s already thinking about going back. He wants to travel around the lake, and shoot a series in winter. He was most surprised by the two faces of Balaton: families with kids and grandkids have fun on the same beach during the day where young people get drunk and party all night long
- He didn’t want to take classic beach pictures, or stunning landscape photos; he chose long exposure instead, that’s why his images are full of blurry figures.
- Here’s Silvio’s Facebook page, and here’s his website where you can see what else he’s interested in besides photography.
