What is a dragon boat?
The dragon boat is 12.5-metre-long canoe rigged with a decorative dragon head and a tail. Usually 18-20 paddlers paddle on two sides to the rhythm set by a drummer with the help of a steerer (sweep). The drummer (or caller) sits in a backward position at the bow, facing the paddlers, while the steerer stands at the back.
