Instead of Israel,  Balatonfüred will host the second World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships between 5 and 7 September.

Due to the unstable and unpredictable situation in the Middle East, FINA replaced Israel with Hungary as the host of event, preferring Balatonfüfred over  Barcelona, Dubai and Setubal. Füred hosted legs of the European Open Water Swimming Cup in 2013 and 2014.

The youth (14-16 yo) races take place on a 5-km distance, while the juniors (17-18 yo) compete on 7.5 kms. Team races on the third day cover 3kms. Over 300 participants are expected to the competition. entry is free.
