The Balatoni Kapunyitó Fesztivál (Gate Opening Festival) awaits everyone to Balatonkenese to celebrate the summer holiday.
Balatonkenese is considered as the eastern gate of Balaton, because this is the closest town to Budapest among the coast's towns. The locals like to celebrate that fact and so they host a big celebration around the whole concept, and theoretically they open their gate in July every year.
The Balatoni Kapunyitó Fesztivál is about the great things of Balaton: the wines, the food and the lake itself. But it's not enough, there's much more here, like music, dance performances, traditional cultural programs and markets.
