The goal of the Budapest Ragtime Band is to preserve and promote ragtime and to entertain their audience of every age with a quality performance.
The Budapest Ragtime Band was founded in 1980 by college degree jazz and classical musicians, who turned the traditional ragtime piano style into a unique sound with bold ideas and fresh arrangement solutions.
Later, they also added jazz and dixieland evergreens, unique musical parodies, humorous adaptations of widely known hits and operas to their repertory.
The band released its ffirst album in 1984, which was followed by a Dutch record and then again a Hungarian one. They released 7 albums between 1990 and today. They are regularly touring Europe, America and the Canary Islands and perform at noted festivals and in the TV shows of various countires.
