Earth Hour is a worldwide initiative to raise awareness of pollution and overconsumption. The initiative was launched in Australia in 2007 and became global in 2008.
Participants and supporters are asked to switch off lights and unplug electric appliances for an hour on the last Saturday of March to call attention to climate change.
This year, the above mentioned Saturday falls on 28 March. Earth Hour starts at 20:30 and ends at 21:30.
