The European Mobility Week (including the car free day) is one of the largest environmental campaigns of the world, held annually between 16 and 22 September.

Each year, more and more settlements join this event series organized by local governments.
The Car Free Day (originally called : ‘In Town Without My Car!’ ) has been held since 1998, while the Mobility Week has been held since 2002. By today, the two events have merged into one with the goal of drawing attention to environmentally conscious living and alternative, sustainable mobility.
