On 24 January, the Nordica SkiArena of Eplény holds the amateur ski race, the Hóbarátok (Snowfriends) Cup for the 4th time. Anyone can enter, who hasn't been in the rankings of the Hungarian Ski Association for at least 5 years.
The participants can test their skills at giant slalom, winding between gates equipped with sensors. Those who miss a gate, are out; those who fall can continue unless they lose a ski or miss a gate while doing so.
This race is organised specifically for amateurs. Entrants are divided into 10 age groups.
