Organized in Siófok to mark the 170th anniversary of Balaton shipping, the first National Regatta will be held on 11-12 June. Participants from all over the country can put themselves to the test on both water and land, as a variety of other events are planned in addition to the regatta itself.

The two-day yacht race will also include a cooking competition, shows by several popular performers, and activities geared toward the littlest visitor. The participating towns and villages will get the chance to showcase their cultural and gastronomical traditions, and to enter the regatta with amateur sailing teams.

The race will be perfectly visible from the shore, but special boats (among them a boat just for kids) will be available for spectators to get a closer look at the action.

In the spirit of healthy living, those visiting Siófok between 11 and 12 June will be able to participate in various other sports activities (dragon boat races and cardio rowing), screening examinations, and counseling sessions. Visitors are in for a musical treat at the end of both days, with popular bands Magna Cum Laude and The Biebers taking the stage to round off the evenings.

The aim of the two-day festival is to highlight the fact that Balaton is valuable for the whole country, not just for the residents of the region.
