Lake Balaton swings into action in May with the spring event series Open Balaton between 1 and 11 May all around the region - in Badacsony as well. The series is intended to demonstrate that the Balaton is capable of offering quality programmes to tourists in the spring as well.
Events in and around Badacsony:
• 1-11 May - Castle games in the Castle of Szigligeti:
The performances begin at 11 AM and 4 PM every day. Entry: 600.- HUF/adult; 300.- HUF/child
• 1-3 May - Spring Painting Competition in Ábrahámhegy
The central theme of the arts competition is none other than Ábrahámhegy with its beauty, and its exciting and captivating attractions and air. Information: Ábrahámhegy Culture House, +36-70/380-0763
• 2 May - West Balaton bike tour with an option to join in at Badacsony, meet-up from 11:15 AM on the pier.
• 2 May - Hiking from Szigliget to the Óvár
Route: Boat stop– Hegyi shop – Aranykagyló utca – Hegyaljai út – Királyné szoknyája – Óvár/Lookout point– Fakavölgyi út – Beach– Boat stop
Meet-up: at 10 AM in the parking lot of the boat stop
• 2 May - FRB concert in the Dísztér at 8 PM
• 3 May - Fish soup cooking and fishing competition in Ábrahámhegy

• 3 May - Press conference and chat with noted sportsmen with ties to Szigliget, in the castle from 3 PM; host: Jenő Csiszár

• 4 May - Klastrom pleasure trip on the Badacsony-hegy

Route: Badacsony, Kisfaludy út - Rózsakő - basalt columns. Along the route, you can examine various basalt forms.

• 6-11 May - exhibitions in Badacsonytördemic:
Ferenc Herczegh exhibition: the original furniture and articles of personal use from his former summer house in Badacsonylábdihegy, with photos and documents
Old Badacsony postcards: an exhibition of nearly 500 old postcards in the former school building of Badacsonytördemic, a look back on the period faces of the hill and the lakeside settlements
• 7 May - Nordic Walking in Szigliget
The walk follows a nordic walking route of international certification.

• 8 May - Bike tour around Badacsony Hill
A guided tour; bring your own bike.
Starting at 10 AM from the Badacsony Tourinform office.
• 8 May - West Balaton bike tour with an option to join in at Badacsony, meet-up from 11:15 AM on the pier.
• 9 May - folk dance evening with the Tördemic Dance Ensemble at the Faluház from 7 PM
• 10 May - Study trail tour in Badacsony
The trail is 4 km long. Stops: Rózsa-kő - Kisfaludy lookout tower- Kőkapu –Kőkereszt- Klastrom kút-Bujdosók lépcsője - Tördemici lookout tower. Meet-up at 10 AM in front of the Badacsony Tourinform office.
• 10 May - Retro party in Badacsony (Dísztér)
• 11 May - Tördemic hike
Route: Rodostó út – Bányaudvar – Kőkapu – Lookout tower – Kőkereszt – Bujdosók lépcsője
Start: at 10 AM from the Badacsonytördemic Faluház.

Throughout this period, individual visitors can enter the Szegedy Róza House for free and recieve a 50% discount on the entrance ticket to the
József Egry Memorial Museum.
