Thanks to the exemplary cooperation of the winemakers of Badacsony, the Wine Triathlon event series that was born last year, also continues in 2014 with 3 wine trips, on 3 weekends in 3 months.
The Badacsony Guild Tourism Association presents the 3 determining grape varieties of the Badacsony wine region in the frame of one dedicated wine weekend for each, for the second time. The participating wineries await wine-lovers for a Pinot gris tour on 17-18 May; the Kéknyelű Blossom on 7-8 June; and the Riesling Holiday on 11-12 October. In the frame of these events, guests can get familiar with the real Pinot gris, Kéknyelű and Welschriesling of Badacsony in an authentic environment, surrounded by the hidden treasures of winemakers in the depth of wine cellars.
The wineries await visitors with wine tastings, culture and gastronomy programmes throughout these 3 weekends. The range of entertainment includes wine quizzes, music on the terrace, vineyard inspection in a Barkas, Roman Age food specialities, artisan cheeses and products, stews, home-made delicacies, and guests can try their hand at winemaking as well.
On Saturdays, the Badacsony Region Shuttle Bus helps its passengers get from winery to winery. The bus service also includes a hostess who welcomes passengers and guides them, introducing local sights, the current events and the local services at each bus stop.
The Triathlon is also accompanied by a game. Throughout the Wine Triathlon, guests can collect wine labels and stamps at the wineries. The booklets for collecting these are available at the wineries and in the Tourinform of Badacsony. After three wine labels or stamps, you'll get a badge. After six labels or stamps, you'll be rewarded with a bottle of wine.
