Péter Weiler's exhibition Route 71 debuts in the frame of the Káli Buli on 21 June at a really unique venue: at the bus stop of Köveskál. The pieces exhibited all visualize characteristic moments of Lake Balaton.

'The Balaton is a tongue we share, that we all speak and understand equally. From the first kiss on the shore, through Granny's now retro summer house, to Dad's two-room tent, it means so much to us. I loved drawing these pictures as they gave me the opportunity to evoke the delicate little vibrations of the most beautiful summers. The Balaton has changed in the mean time, so I strived to magic this retro world into the fresh moments of this day, like our childhood met the present.' Péter Weiler
Media professional and fine artist, Péter Weiler depicted Balaton-memories known to all in his Route '71 series in his cartoon-popart-pixelart blend of styles. The title of the exhibition is a pun: for Hungary, the Balaton is the sea, and main road 71 along the north shore is our Route 66, connecting the Balaton-memories of many both phisically and mentally.
The paintings will not only be exhibited in the building of the Köveskál bus stop, right opposite to Miakő, but also at the MasterCard Balaton Sound and the Strand - Nagyon Zene Fesztivál.
