On the National Day of Hungarian Culture, the Junior Prima- and Prima Primissima Prize-winning world-famous pianist will perform a repertoire of evergreen pieces by Mozart, Schubert, Chopin and Liszt.

Pianist Tamás Érdi lost his eye sight as a result of an oxygen overdose in a defective incubator. His interest in music was discovered at a very young age. His teacher used a special method to "visualize" the notes for him. He is now 35 and played in 27 countries so far.

He played with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Iceland Symphony, the Vienna Mozart Orchestra and several Hungarian symphony orchestras, among others. He performed at the Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center.

In 2008 Tamás received the Junior Prima Prize, awarded to talented individuals under 30 and won the Prima Primissima in 2010, which is the most prestigious professional recognition for Hungarian individuals by the private sector. In 2012 he receives the "Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic, Knight’s Cross" state decoration.
