The observatory, which was inaugurated in 1967, dilapidated soon after the change of regime, and it wasn’t renovated until 2012. Thanks to state subsidy and funds from the LEADER program, by now the building has become the center of cultural life in Balatonfűzfő.
Cultural, community and informative events are regularly organized here, and a consulting service for civilians and businesses is also available. During opening hours experts hold telescope demonstrations, for which you need to sign up in advance.
Tip: During the day visitors can marvel at the Balaton panorama from the terrace of Csillagfény Café, while the little ones can enjoy the interactive playroom.
