The beach of Balatonakali is a neatly restored, carefully maintained field with green grass, shady areas canopied by trees and a lady selling corn on the cob from a cart she pushes in front of her. The “tall blue slide” is a characteristic feature of the beach, as is the tall white church tower in the background. Should you get hungry, you can choose from an entire row of food stands selling the obligatory dishes of beach gastronomy: hake, lángos, hamburgers, pancakes. There is a gift shop and other miscellaneous shops, so you don’t need to panic if you’ve left your beach towel or swim ring at home. The beach has a sports field, which hosts various sports events from time to time. Entry fee concessions are available for kids, students and pensioners.
