Opened in 1890, the boat stop of Balatonboglár is one of only a few that have been named after a person, in this case after the leading architect of many of Balaton’s boat stops – it is thus officially called Kaáli Nagy Dezső Boat Stop. The bay is enclosed by two peninsulas, with the boat stop and the marina located on the eastern side.
Scheduled boats leave for Tihany, Badacsony, Balatonlelle and Balatonszemes. If you are looking for places to visit on land, two of Boglár’s main attractions, Gömbkilátó and the Balaton Screw Steamer, can be found almost within arm’s reach. Those who get hungry on their way to the nearby train station can stop halfway at Paletta.
