Balatonmáriafürdő has a public beach at the end of every tenth block, and all of them meet pretty much the same standards – located roughly in the middle of the town’s shore, Polgár Street Public Beach is no exception.

Like most ordinary Balaton beaches, this one has a playground, a sand pit and a pier leading into the water, but Máriafürdő has a special rule mandating that all beaches have as many benches as possible. There’s a pedal boat rental, but it’s only open during high season, and the beach also has a couple of food stands by the non-paying parking lot.

Due to the peace, the trees and the abundant shade, this beach is ideal mainly for families with small children.
