Located between Balatonszárszó and Balatonszemes and home to barely more than 500 residents, the town of Balatonösződ is known mostly for the nearby party holiday complex, but its beach is a pretty sight too.

Noted for its shady groves, Ösződ’s public beach is above the Balaton average due to its 8-hectare territory. There’s a price to pay: since it’s not an official beach, there’s no lifeguard service available, but night-time swimming is legal thanks to the strong lights of the promenade.

The hidden gem of the south shore is perfect for those who prefer quite holidays: even though there’s a playground, pedal boats and a basketball court, the well-kept lawn, the clear water and the landscape dominated by trees and groves exude a “time stands still” kind of vibe. The free parking lot in front of the beach is a special perk.
