Sited somewhat further from the Balaton shore, but extremely close to the observation tower on Somlyó-hegy, this church is where the Reformed congregation of Alsóörs comes together every Sunday.
The simple church is well over 750 years of age; it was constructed after the Mongol invasion, sometime around 1260. The building displays design elements and artworks from a lot of different eras – the fresco fragments are some of the most exciting ones of all.
Other interesting motifs to look out for on the walls include pomegranates, lilies, algae, mermaids, peacocks, and eagles.
