The former residents of the Festetics Palace in Keszthely knew the real deal; they kept a collection of the best wines of the world in the cellar. Then counts were replaced by Soviet troops who drank all the wine and transformed the cellar into storage. The hallways still look like storage rooms, but the cellar offers the best wines once again.
Vilmos Kreil, the owner of the place offers a really wide range of choice: wines from Zala, Etyek, or Villány can be tasted and purchased here along with the bottles of popular winemakers and less-known but highly recommended wineries of the Balaton. Should you need company or information, our advice is to turn to a certain member or the staff, namely Zoltán, who is a hilarious guy and an expert on local restaurants, wine cellars and hidden gems.
