“Man often needs wine.” The saying of Saint Augustine, which the whole family swears by, was borrowed by the Dobosi Winery to put on some of their wine labels. Almost all family members play a part in running the winery. The result: roughly 100,000 bottles of wine per year, a plethora of awards and a transition to organic production. Pesticides are gradually replaced by manual labour and there is more and more emphasis on the “prevention instead of treatment” philosophy in the Dobosi Winery. Wine tastings and wine dinners are regularly organized here with the not so secret ulterior motive to showcase authentic rural hospitality. Their wines, fruit juices, grape seed and other types of oils are sold at the farmers’ market near MOM Park in Budapest.
