The Herbal Study Garden and Training Center in Halimba isn’t only for those who enjoy learning more about herbal medicine.

Walking past the vegetable beds and the rare fruit trees we can see what a vine arbor built like a medieval monastery’s cloister looks like, or see the everyday life of an insect-hotel. The garden and the house belonged to parish priest dr Miklós Szalai, who lived and worked in Halimba for almost half a century: he collected, studied, and cultivated herbs. High-ranking politicians and residents of the village all came here to heal.

The memorial house and the garden are open all year round, but the plants look the most beautiful from May to September.
