The Károly Eötvös lookout tower is located on the Blue Trail that goes through Fekete Hill – starting from the church of Szentbékkálla, it leaves the yellow sign behind at the stone cross to connect the blue blaze. On the road you can bump into press houses and the artificial spring-cave of Öreg Hill Well.
The lookout tower was built in 1950 from basalt stone, and was rebuilt using redwood during the 1970s. It was named after Károly Eötvös, who was often called the story-teller of Balaton, as he had a chain of stories about the area.
Tip: The Szentbékkálla Stone Field is about 30 minutes away from the stone cross, or you can continue hiking towards Köveskál after leaving the hill behind.
