This collection of almost 65,000 pieces is unique in Hungary. The book collection is thematically very colorful, numerous disciplines can be found here, from theology to history and physics. Among the 70 items of incunabula and approximately 300 antique documents, several pieces can only be found in Zirc.
The library is available for visitors only through guided tours, during which they get acquainted with the history of the Cistercian collection and the order itself, while they can also visit a book exhibition, as well as the main hall – well-known throughout Europe, it is furnished with inlaid wood made by the Wilde brothers.
Tip: Guided tours are held every 30 minutes within opening hours, starting at quarter past and quarter to each hour.
