The well known four-star hotel of Balatonfüred was built in 2006 on the plot previously occupied by a couple of hangars with the aim of bringing new, Mediterranean flare to the town. A few years have passed since then and by now buildings not in line with the “Balaton-Mediterranean” style, also represented by Hotel Silverine Lake Resort, are the odd ones out among the houses of the Zákony Ferenc Promenade. The wellness department of the hotel awaits with steam and heat, but the Finnish sauna in the yard is definitely the biggest hit of the establishment – watching the sunset from here in wintertime is an experience unlike any other. The wellness services are available to anyone; even those who haven’t booked a room can enjoy a pleasant sauna session. There’s no private beach, so you’ll have to head to the two outdoor pools instead to get your water fix.

The rooms are all furnished in a sleek and modern style, but if the view is an important factor to you, make sure you don’t book a room overlooking the yard or only offering a side view of the lake. Their most spacious conference room has a capacity of 140, and since smaller rooms can also be sectioned off, the hotel is a popular venue for less elaborate conferences.

You won’t have to go far to find a café or a marina: Cafe Amaryllis is located on the ground floor, and the Silver Yacht Port is right next door. The Silver Yard is home to some true heavyweights as well, such as the Karolina Café & Cocktail Bar and the Figula Wine Bar; to pop over to Matróz, all you have to do is walk across the street. The comfortable hotel could be a suitable starting point of any Balaton wine tour.
