Bahart (Balaton Sailing Ltd.) believes that the marina of Szigliget is a true gem, partly because it is surrounded by a scenic landscape; from a sailing point of view, it’s a safe place for all wind conditions, and there’s even a rather popular restaurant operating here in the marina.
It often happens that the host of the Kikötő Restaurant, Marcsi helps with the mooring, and then she even cooks a delicious comfort food for the tired sailors. This in itself is enough of a reason to visit this part of the coast, with a boat or without, where, by the way, there’s even a playground.
If you arrive by water, you must pay attention to strong eastern and southern winds, as they rock the ships at the guest places. Furthermore, be careful with the narrow entrance when you try to cruise into one of the 30 rentable mooring spots. Unfortunately, you can’t rent a boat here.
Tip: You can purchase tickets for the scheduled boats at the ticket office next to the restaurant’s entrance.
