Nezde Statue Park officially belongs to the village of Kereki, but the tourist path that leads here comes from the direction of Szólád. Legend has it that this is where the Duke of Somogy, Koppány is buried – thus the place is very much defined by ancient Hungarian motifs, like the fact that magical powers are at work on the grass-covered hilltop. There isn't any proof of this, but a rumor says that there was a herd of buffaloes here in the ‘40s – when they laid down to a certain spot, it was almost impossible to make them go away from this area.
In any case, the eclectic company of statues, stretching from the one picturing Attila the Hun, to the giant chestnut tree that is visible from kilometers away, provides a breathtaking sight when the sun sets.
