Designed by architect Gyula Pelényi, Millennium Observation Tower on Fülöp-hegy was erected in 2001 to mark the anniversary of Hungary’s foundation. The structure, which looks a lot like an old watchtower, is set in a peaceful natural environment, which makes the hike up the stairs absolutely worth it.

From the top, you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama featuring Badacsony, the monadnocks of the north shore, and the south shore as well. Visitors have to pay a symbolic entrance fee during high season.

Tip:
The tower is about an hour on foot from the center of Révfülöp, so you can take the trip by car if you don’t feel up for the challenge. All you have to do is follow the signs posted along the way.
