Out of all the theatres in “the city of queens”, the one named after Sándor Petőfi can boast the most prestigious past.

Also, the building that is home to the company is one of the must-see venues of Veszprém, and with good reason. Thanks to the efforts of the Theatre Patrons Association founded in 1905, Hungary’s first theatre with a reinforced concrete structure was built in Veszprém.

For those with a lack of fascination for such architecture-related milestones, let these two names suffice: Zoltán Latinovits and István Bujtor. The former of these two legendary Hungarian actors was a director, the latter the one-time head of the prominent institution.
