Goose salami, cracklings, venison ham, ramson goat cheese, teas and oils, coffee from Southern Italy, special mustards and grated horseradish with apple, Hungarian pálinkas and wines, lavender syrups: Pörc delicatessen, located in Balatonkenese and selling Hungarian artisan goods exclusively, already has long queues in front of it at the weekends.
Sausages, ribs, beef patties, and pork rind, of course are grilled in the bistro where they also serve burgers, cold platters, and cottage cheese dumplings. A vegetarian course is also available in this heaven for meat-lovers.
Standing behind the counter, Jenő Kocsis always wears a shirt and tie, even in the scorching summer heat, and works on making his customers check out excellent meat products instead of their smartphone screens. As far as we can tell, he is on the right path.
