Saint Anne Round Church can be found in Kallósd, a tiny village of only about 100 residents, located in a small valley of Zala. The church is an outstanding representative of the round churches of the Árpád-era.
The building is so tiny that there isn’t any furniture inside, and the simple altarpiece depicts the eponymous Saint Anne. Located on the hilltop, there’s a well kept cemetery around the church.
They often have concerts here, sometimes even masses and weddings during the summer months. You can get to the church through a 13 kilometres long walking tour from the direction of Örvényes-hegy.
Tip: If the building isn’t open, you might want to ask around at the Mayor’s office or the local store, as they’re always happy to show the church to visitors.
