In May 2014, Spoon opened a new restaurant under the name of Spoon il Mercato in Balatonakarattya, just off Rákóczi Square. You can find the Mediterranean-style restaurant and its large garden right next to Spoon Lodge: with its plants, wrought iron furniture and soft Italian music, it would even stand out on the Tuscan slopes.
They offer authentic Italian cuisine, including oven-baked pizza, lamb chop saltimbocca, and tomato-based seafood soup. Most of their ingredients come straight from Italy, and the ham and cheese selections in the deli counter are of the best.
The details are very important here: the garden is adorned by a Fiat 500 and a small red Piaggio, but the Dutch ham slicing machine in the restaurant is by no means less significant.
