Szent Donát is one of the best known wineries of the Balaton-felvidék (Balaton Uplands). Their wines can be found in various prominent Hungarian restaurants as well as in Michelin-starred restaurants around the world.
One of the most popular restaurants of the north shore can also be found here: MÁRGA Bistro is famous for not only its kitchen, but also for its terrace and the view from there. The restaurant and the manor are both open all year round.
The owner, Tamás Kovács is the winemaker of the winery. The manor’s vineyards are located in Csopak, Paloznak, Tihany and in the Káli Basin. Their main variety is Olaszriesling, but they also work with Furmint and Kékfrankos (Blaufränkisch). All wines are made from the winery’s own grapes, with every step of the production happening at the Csopak estate.
