If you feel like you’re brave enough to venture into the depths of Szentgáli-Kőlik, you’ll first have to take a 20-minute walk from the center of Szentgál to reach the mysterious cave. After putting on a special overall and headlamp, you can start the descent down the precipitous rock wall.
There are two tours to choose from: the basic tour lasts 1.5-2 hours, and covers a distance of 150 meters, while the extreme, 250-meter tour has been designed for super brave cavers over the age of 18, who are up for a 2-2.5-hour adventure. Whichever option you choose, you’ll be in for a truly special experience: creep and crawl through narrow tunnels, climb up and down the steep ladders, and get to know the famous bats of Kőlik.
Tip: You should definitely sign up for one of the trips, but only if you’re not afraid of getting a bit messy.
