Climb up Fonyód’s narrow, winding József utca – claimed by the locals to be the prettiest in the country – and you’ll arrive at Walkó Lookout Point, located at the foot of Sipos-hegy. Standing on the narrow limestone balcony, you almost feel like lounging on your own terrace, marveling at the undulating landscape of the north shore.
This is not the only spot around Fonyód with a killer view of Lake Balaton: it’s worth taking a glance from Sipos-hegy’s observation tower or Várhegyi Széplátó. A little bit further off from the tower you’ll find Kripta Villa, whose legend has attracted romantic souls for decades.
