The 20-acre arboretum of Zirc is found in the Balaton-Uplands National Park. Currently, it is home to about 600 species of trees and shrubs, including several types of pine; the most famous being a 170-year-old white pine, the "Jurányi linden" and the Amur cork tree - the latter has rubber-like bark.
There is a small, scenic pond at the entrance, fed by the Cuha-patak that crosses the arboretum. The stream is especially beautiful in spring, when the surrounding plants cover the shores in blossom.
Apart from the beauties of the trees, one can also find a wide variety of birds here. There are song birds, bats and squirrels as well nesting in the old trees.
