Balaton’s first water study trail can be visited with either professional guidance or alone: you can rent kayaks and canoes at the beach and follow GPS coordinates and QR codes while exploring the trail.
The six-station water tour is three kilometers long and educates on the local flora and fauna, as well as the history of the bath culture and the geology of the area – all these information are available through the QR codes. Badacsony’s basalt organs and the slopes of Szigliget can be seen from a special perspective through the water trail.
You can rent all the necessary equipment for the tour: the waterproof bag will have a GPS, walkie-talkie, first aid kit, and binoculars in it. You have to pay a deposit of 5,000 forints per vehicle when you rent one, which you will get back if you return the boats in impeccable condition.
