The Balaton cross-paddle performance race is held for the 14th time this year. The paddle starts at Alsóörs and goes as far as Siófok, before returning to the starting point. You can participate with anything from kayaks and canoes to dragon boats, as long as you paddle - which means that SUP is also allowed.
Only hand-powered boats and vehicles can participate in this 18.5-km-long race. The race starts from the shore between the Alsóörs boat stop and the beach at 11 AM. The first to depart are the giant and dragon boats, then the smaller categories follow. The first 3 in each category will receive a medal.
You can register to participate on the day of the race between 8:30 and 10:00 AM in front of the Dexion Disco. University and college students, clubs with at least 10 participating boats and dragon boats are entitled to a discount. Pre-registration by 8 August is a must! Details at www.marathon.hu .
