The Kossuth Lookout Tower is one of the oldest of its kind in the region. Built in 1962, this observation tower was entirely rebuilt in 2015. You can not only admire the view of Lake Balaton from here but also South Bakony.
The peak is only a pleasant walk away from the foot of Halom-hegy, and you can examine the stations of Vulkán Study Trail along the way – these not only tell about the history of the place, but also lead to the former crater.
There’s a model of Lake Balaton, made from locally mined stones, next to the lookout tower. It’s a great place for families with small children and for school groups as well.
