Before you start climbing the rather steep Exiles Stairs leading to the top of Badacsony, you should know that the lookout tower is no longer there, but the view is still quite stunning, so it’s definitely worth the trek.
From the hilltop lookout spot you can see the neighboring cellars by Szent György Hill’s basalt organs, the ruins of Szigliget Castle, and the solitary hills of the region – in clear weather theranges of the Keszthelyi-hegység are also perfectly visible in the distance.
Tip: If you’re interested in seeing special architectural solutions, you should visit nearby Kisfaludy Observation Tower, which has been rebuilt based on the original plans of the old tower that used to stand there.
