There’s plenty to see and plenty to do throughout the month: from philharmonic delights and classic cars to stand-up paddling and wild dancers, May in the Balaton region promises to be quite eventful indeed.

Balatonfüred Concours d’Elegance 2018

The annual parade of classic cars will be held at Balatonfüred at the beginning of the month. Besides a beauty pageant of beautifully restored classic cars, this weekend will have many other exciting events in store – all in the name of elegance, style and fashion.

Pavlo Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble

The renowned Ukrainian dance company will have three shows around Lake Balaton in May: one performance will take place in Kaposvár close to the south shore, one will be held at the Balaton Theatre in Keszthely, while the last will be at Hangvilla in Veszprém.

Savaria Symphony Orchestra conducted by Hermine Pack

The acclaimed Hungarian Savaria Symphony Orchestra will play Brahms and Mendelssohn for this evening concert, conducted by Hermine Pack who has already made several guest appearances around Hungary.

Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro and the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra

The Japanese conductor is incredibly popular among Hungarian audiences so it’s no wonder that he often returns – this time to conduct the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra at Veszprém’s Hangvilla.

Verdi’s Macbeth 

Hangvilla has been broadcasting one performance from London’s Royal Opera House every month since January. This month you can enjoy Macbeth, the world-famous opera by Giuseppe Verdi that is based on the Shakespeare tragedy.
